Officials from Scottish Government’s Bairns’ Hoose Unit visited the North Strathclyde Bairns Hoose on 12 December 2023, to gain an insight into how the multi-agency team work to support children in a welcoming and child friendly space. It was great to see the progress made to realise our shared ambitions for children who have experienced trauma.
It was fascinating to hear about the journey to get to this point, including the challenges the partnership have overcome and wonderful to see the culmination of those efforts in the now operational Bairns’ Hoose. The team were struck with the welcoming and comfortable interior – like a warm family home – which will allow each child to feel safe and supported. There is so much rich learning from this great achievement which will prove particularly useful to Pathfinder and Affiliate partnerships as they move to establish their own Bairns’ Hooses.
